Welcome to Our Website

The Victims of Crime Resource Center is located on the Pacific McGeorge School of Law campus in Sacramento, California. The Center has operated the State of California's toll-free 1-800-VICTIMS line since 1984. McGeorge students, under attorney supervision, provide information and referral statewide to victims, their families, victim service providers, and victim advocates. The Center is mandated by legislation, California Penal Code Section 13897, and is funded through the California Emergency Management Agency (CalEMA). Primarily through its telephone service, Center staff provide resource and referral information to victims and their families, victim service providers and other victim advocates. Callers receive information on such matters as victims' compensation, victims' rights in the Justice System, restitution, civil suits, right to speak at sentencing and parole board hearings, as well as information on specific rights of victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, child abuse, and abuse against disabled.
